About this role
Do you want to influence how companies can establish and grow in Stockholm and create better places to operate? We are looking for a proactive project manager who wants to help develop the city's establishment and expansion services.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to strengthen the guidance of companies, contribute a business perspective to the urban planning process, and develop environments that make it easier and more attractive for businesses to establish themselves in Stockholm. If you want to work broadly, collaboratively, and strategically for a vibrant business community, this role may be right for you.
Welcome to us
Stockholm Business Region is the business and destination company of the City of Stockholm. Our mission is to lead the city's operational business efforts and enhance Stockholm's attractiveness. Stockholm is one of the world's most innovative, creative, and sustainable cities. In collaboration with businesses, academia, organizations, municipalities, and authorities, we work for a better business climate in Stockholm and to position Stockholm globally. We strive to make Stockholm an attractive place for companies, talents, meetings, events, and visitors. The company is owned by the City of Stockholm through Stockholm Stadshus AB. We are located in a newly renovated office in the Tekniska nämndhuset, centrally located in Kungsholmen. We have about 65 employees in the company.
Your role
We are now looking for a project manager who is passionate about business development and has experience with the business perspective in the urban planning process. You will play a central role in the company's work to further develop the city's establishment and expansion services, strengthen the guidance of companies, and find forms of collaboration both internally and externally. You will support the business perspective in the urban planning process and participate in place development efforts to create favorable conditions for the local business community and attractive environments to operate in. As a project manager, you will independently drive and coordinate processes and work both strategically and operationally. This position is new, so you will have the opportunity to shape working methods and initiatives. You will also be involved in driving research and analysis work, where monitoring the external environment is an important part.
You will be part of a team that, in addition to establishment services, works with local business development, entrepreneurship, sustainable industry development, business climate, and talent attraction. You will work both collaboratively with several functions within the company and the rest of the group, as well as independently with significant personal responsibility. We are a team of nine people. You will report to the department manager.

- Contribute the business perspective to the urban planning process and place development
- Collaborate broadly with relevant administrations and companies to drive development and change

- Experience working in a politically governed organization
- Worked with urban development projects
- Experience in driving projects and processes in complex organizations with many different stakeholders
- A good understanding of businesses' needs and conditions, as well as how a municipality can create better conditions through physical planning

- Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing, in Swedish and English.
It is advantageous if you have:
- Experience within the City of Stockholm or a similar role in another municipality or public organization

Personal skills and competencies
In this recruitment, we place great emphasis on personal qualities and will focus on the competencies listed below.
We are looking for someone who is self-driven and has a strong motivation to make things happen. You take initiative, drive processes forward, and ensure that projects do not get stuck in lengthy decision-making paths. You need to be structured and have the ability to create order and clear processes, which is important as we work in a dynamic environment with many stakeholders involved.
Since the role involves close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, your ability to collaborate is crucial. You enjoy working in teams but also building bridges between different parts of the organization. You see opportunities to find common solutions and know how to influence and engage others to bring them along. Furthermore, you need to be a communicative person who can express yourself easily, both verbally and in writing. You have a natural ability to build relationships and feel comfortable speaking in front of a group, leading meetings, and giving presentations. Finally, you are service-oriented and have a positive attitude, seeing opportunities rather than obstacles. You are committed to creating good conditions for entrepreneurs and see it as a given to work solution-oriented to make Stockholm an even better city for business.
