The Project Department is part of Property Management, which provides Karlskrona Municipality with important public services and internal services to the municipality's departments. The Project Department plays a significant role in developing the municipality's physical environment and operational premises. With assignments from other departments, we are responsible for project planning, procurement, and implementation of construction and infrastructure projects, and we participate in land development, facility planning, and detailed planning issues. The current position is located in the Construction Unit within the Project Department, which consists of an ambitious and knowledgeable team of 6 people, including 5 project managers and a unit manager. The department has a total of 14 employees. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES About the Role As a Construction Project Manager, you are responsible for driving construction projects from concept to completion, primarily for the municipality's own operations. You lead feasibility studies, project planning, procurement, and implementation, ensuring that projects maintain high quality while keeping economics in mind. You have many contact points, including clients, authorities, consultants, and contractors, and serve as an advisor to operations on construction matters. You will also work on investigations and economic calculations, prepare decision-making documents for political committees, and ensure that all procurement follows public procurement regulations. We are seeking candidates who: • Have experience leading construction projects and thrive in a project management role or have other relevant experience. • Are service-oriented, attentive, and able to collaborate with various stakeholders. • Can organize, structure, and prioritize tasks to achieve both short and long-term goals. • Enjoy working in a team and are willing to share knowledge. • Have an interest in design issues and practical solutions. QUALIFICATIONS Qualifications You are a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Master of Science in Engineering, or have other education and experience suitable for the assignment and deemed relevant and sufficient by the employer. A B driver's license is required for the position. It is advantageous if you have: • Extensive experience in project management of construction projects (both large and small) • Several years of experience from construction or consulting companies • Experience with facility planning • Negotiation skills • Experience with permit and authority applications • Good experience with cost estimation • Good knowledge of Construction Contract AB04/ABT06, Planning and Building Act, AMA AF, AMA House, Construction Work Environment Coordinator BAS-P • Experience from public sector operations • Good computer skills ADDITIONAL INFORMATION At Karlskrona Municipality, employees enjoy numerous benefits.
