Uppdrag Arkeologi is a company operating within Swedish contract archaeology. The business is financed through external consulting assignments, primarily in the form of archaeological investigations, preliminary studies, and surveys commissioned by the country’s County Administrative Boards. Our office is located in Hässelby, Stockholm, but our operational area extends across large parts of Central Sweden. Our geographical catchment area offers a rich variety of archaeological remains from all periods, and the projects range from large to small.
As a company, our long-term goal is to increase the demand for our services and establish operations over a larger geographical area. To achieve this, we know that we need dedicated, knowledgeable, and professional project-leading archaeologists who thrive on the responsibility of leading and executing assigned projects.
We are now seeking two driven, knowledgeable, and committed project-leading archaeologists who want to develop the business together with us. Your tasks will include independently or in collaboration with colleagues planning, leading, executing, and reporting on archaeological projects of varying sizes and characteristics. You will work closely with your colleagues both in the role of project leader and as a project team member. The assignments can at times be challenging but are also rewarding, exciting, and enjoyable. To succeed, you need to have a good ability to organize, communicate, and build long-term relationships with colleagues, authorities, and client companies. As a project leader, you will be responsible for the project budget and, where applicable, for managing the work. The role may also involve outreach activities, such as giving presentations or conducting tours.
Applicants are expected to have a good understanding of how the Swedish contract archaeology system operates. Previous experience working within Swedish contract archaeology is a requirement. A valid driver's license (B category) is also required. Previous experience in project management within Swedish contract archaeology is an advantage. A higher academic degree with archaeology as the main subject is also advantageous.
As an employee at Uppdrag Arkeologi, you will have the opportunity for various forms of professional development, such as participation in subject-related conferences and seminars. We also offer wellness benefits and time for wellness activities during paid working hours. Our employer organization is Sobona, and we are committed to following the collective agreement BĂ–K25.
