About this role

About the Job We are seeking a Work Specialist for the ReCharge project, focusing on work as a tool for recovery Do you want to help develop the future of social work and create real change in people's lives? We are now looking for a dedicated Work Specialist for the ESF-funded ReCharge project, where we use the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) method to support individuals with harmful substance use/addiction and comorbidity in finding and maintaining employment. The project is run in collaboration between the Social Administration Northeast and Southwest in Gothenburg and is located within the Adult Resource Unit, under the Adult Division (Northeast). ReCharge aims to develop and make individual-adapted work support (IPS) accessible for people outside the labor market and living with a complex life situation characterized by addiction problems and other mental health issues. We primarily target individuals currently involved with adult units (Northeast) and the Housing and Homelessness Division (Southwest), but we also collaborate with other organizations where the target group may be present. No assistance decision is required, and the work is entirely based on the individual's own wishes and motivations. As an IPS Work Specialist, you work from the "work first" principle, where work is seen as part of the recovery process, rather than a goal requiring preconditions like sobriety or stability. The position involves active, outreach, and practical work with individuals, supporting them through the entire process, from formulating goals to establishing and maintaining employment. A significant part of the assignment involves establishing contacts with employers, making practical experience with the IPS method highly meritorious. The work also occurs in close collaboration with social services, healthcare, and education and labor market activities. You therefore need to be relationship-oriented, unpretentious, and solution-focused. The project is led by a unit manager with overall responsibility and a project leader providing close support through method development and coordination. You will also receive supervision from an IPS development leader and support from an experienced Work Specialist with extended method support responsibilities. The project is part of a larger change process within social services in connection with the new Social Services Act, making your contribution particularly significant. About You To be considered for the Work Specialist position, we seek candidates with a higher education in behavioral sciences focusing on care, healthcare, social work, or pedagogy, or an equivalent education that the employer deems relevant. It is a requirement to have IPS training according to national standards. As we are running an ESF project, you need to have a good ability to quickly understand new tasks and working methods. It is meritorious if you have: • Practical experience working with IPS beyond the required IPS training • Knowledge about harmful substance use, addiction, psychiatry, and comorbidity • Worked with interventions promoting education or work as part of the recovery process We are looking for someone who has confidence in people's ability to succeed and sees the potential in each individual. Furthermore, you are: • Collaborative, flexible, and solution-focused • Accustomed to contributing ideas and implementing them in practice • Committed to making a difference for individuals, where work is seen as a possible and important part of the path to independence. A B driver's license is required We will want to meet you for an initial digital speed interview on 11/21, so selection will be ongoing. The second interview will take place in week 48. Warmly welcome with your application! Additional Information To ensure the quality of the recruitment process, meet GDPR requirements, and enable good communication with our applicants, we ask you to submit your application digitally and not via email or letter.
