Design Engineering Manager for Public Transit Infrastructure We are seeking a Design Engineering Manager for a public transit organization. This is a consulting assignment. Location is Stockholm. Full-time position. The role involves close collaboration with the client, requiring significant flexibility and teamwork skills. Assignment As a Design Engineering Manager, you will lead and coordinate design engineering within a major infrastructure project. You will ensure design engineering meets requirements and guidelines, adheres to timeline and budget, and facilitates efficient progress for design engineers. The role involves close collaboration with other design engineering managers, production managers, and external stakeholders, including responsibility for management data handover. Key Responsibilities - Develop request documentation and technical memorandums - Ensure design engineering meets contractual requirements, regulations, guidelines, and other governing documents - Contribute to changes, deviations, and clarifications based on program requirements - Enable efficient progress for design engineers - Coordinate developed documentation - Lead project timeline planning for infrastructure design - Manage and track design engineering economics against set goals with controller support - Collaborate and coordinate with other design engineering managers - Oversee review of developed documentation - Lead and coordinate design engineering issues during production - Collaborate with production managers - Coordinate interfaces with operational teams during projects near ongoing operations - Prepare relational documentation for Traffic Department - Lead handover of management data to Traffic Department - Occasionally represent the project in external interactions with authorities, suppliers, and contractors regarding technical and design engineering matters - Report to project manager and coordinate with project team Requirements (Mandatory) - Fluent Swedish in speech and writing - College engineering degree or vocational higher education in relevant field (e.g., Civil Engineering, Road and Water Construction, Construction and Water Management) - minimum 3 years of higher education - Minimum 9 years of professional experience in design engineering organizations for infrastructure/facility projects - Minimum 9 years of experience with planning conditions for complex infrastructure projects - Minimum 4 years of experience as a design engineering manager in infrastructure projects - Experience must be within the last 10 years - Experience from at least one rail or railroad project Preferred Qualifications - Experience coordinating multiple technical domains in a single project - Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) project tracking - Experience with utility coordination in projects requiring corridor clearance Personal Characteristics - Strong collaborative skills - Proactive with ability to drive progress and deliver results - Solution-oriented with open problem-solving approach - Ability to create and maintain relationships - Systematic and structured, capable of establishing efficient work methods - Clear and straightforward communicator About Us Centio aims to be a consulting company offering smart, sustainable solutions that positively develop society.
