Project Economist / Calculator for Infrastructure and Energy

We are now seeking an experienced Project Economist (Cost Estimator) with solid background in large infrastructure or energy projects. You will play a central role in developing, analyzing, and quality-assuring calculations related to renovation and new construction of transmission and station projects across the country. About the Assignment Sweden's transmission network is facing extensive renewal and expansion. To meet future electricity supply requirements, numerous investment projects are underway that demand both technical and economic expertise. As a project economist, you will be part of a project organization responsible for developing realistic and sustainable calculations in collaborative contracts. In your role, you will: • Participate in developing and reviewing calculations, target prices, and pricing of technical solutions. • Perform feasibility assessments and help ensure that project economics and quality align with goals. • Support the project team during planning, design, and contract phases. • Lead the development of internal processes, methodology, and approaches for calculations in collaborative projects. • Collect, analyze, and compile key performance indicators and experiences from previous projects to create a knowledge base for future initiatives. • Contribute to budget tracking and cost outcome monitoring, and manage financial documentation in contractors' systems. Your Profile We are seeking candidates who have: • Extensive experience in cost estimation within construction, energy, or infrastructure sectors. • Ability to assess economic consequences of technical solutions. • Strong understanding of contract law, follow-up, and financial management. • Experience working in collaborative contracts is highly meritorious. • Structured work approach and strong analytical skills. Assignment Scope • Start: January 1, 2026 • End: December 31, 2030 • Option: 1-year extension This is a high-level consulting assignment (competence level 3), where you will have the opportunity to contribute to some of Sweden's most significant infrastructure investments in the energy sector.
