About this role
We are seeking an experienced Project Controller for one of Sweden's most extensive urban development projects – Sundbyberg's new city center, with a total investment volume of 5.3 billion SEK.
The project runs parallel to the Swedish Transport Administration's expansion of the Mälarbanan railway, where the railway will be moved underground through Sundbyberg. Simultaneously, conditions are being created for an entirely new city center that connects the city and frees up over 30,000 square meters of land for new housing, offices, retail, and public spaces.
The new city center will become the heart of Sundbyberg's development – a modern, vibrant, and sustainable urban environment where people, businesses, and services converge.

Work Tasks
As a Project Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the financial management and monitoring of the project. Your primary tasks include:
• Drive and quality assure work on budget, forecast, and financial planning
• Support project manager and project strategist in calculation and analysis
• Conduct monthly follow-up and analysis of outcomes per sub-project
• Responsible for monitoring and updating internal control plan
• Develop and follow up key performance indicators and deliver relevant analyses
• Work systematically with routines, templates, and process improvements
• Support project organization on financial matters and routines
• Collaborate closely with project strategist, accounting economist, and project manager
• Together with project strategist, develop long-term calculations and financial conditions for the project
• Develop collaboration with group controller, auditors, and urban development project strategist within project controlling framework
Mandatory Requirements
To succeed in the assignment, you need to meet the following requirements:
• At least 10 years of documented experience from similar roles in controlling or project controlling
• Ability to work independently and deliver without extensive supervision
• Relevant education in economics, project management, or equivalent
• More than 10 years of experience as investment controller, preferably in urban development, infrastructure, or similar large projects
• Ability to develop and follow up key performance indicators and deliver qualitative analyses
• Solid experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost allocation in complex project environments
• Experience in developing routines and templates for financial management
• Good communication skills and willingness to collaborate with project managers, strategists, and other stakeholders
• Ability to verify invoices against contracts and understand contractual and economic consequences
• Strong skills in analysis, reporting, and follow-up of financial goals
• Experience working with complex financial systems
• Precise, structured, and analytical, with ability to deliver under time pressure
About the Assignment
The assignment is 100% and planned to start December 1, 2025, with an initial end date of June 1, 2026, with possibility of extension until June 2027.
Work will be conducted in hybrid form, with location in Sundbyberg.
