Are you interested in learning more? https://www.umu.se/jobba-hos-oss/om-universitetet-som-arbetsplats/ We are seeking a project assistant to work on soil ecological research at the Department of Ecology, Environment and Geosciences, based in Umeå. The position is temporary, at 50%, from December 15, 2025, to February 28, 2026, or by agreement. The application deadline is December 12, 2025. Responsibilities The project assistant will participate in various research activities both in the field and in the laboratory. The work will involve processing field samples, assisting with the preparation of lab experiments and analyses, as well as conducting laboratory measurements. Examples of tasks include: - Processing soil samples - Weighing and pH measurement - Preparing nutrient solutions - Assisting with the setup and teardown of lab experiments - General maintenance of the laboratory Qualifications We are looking for candidates who have at least a bachelor's degree in biology, ecology, environmental science, or a related field. Applicants should have experience working in a lab. Formal training as a laboratory technician and knowledge of sampling and analysis techniques for soil are highly desirable.
