Read more at https://www.umu.se/institutionen-for-datavetenskap/ About the Position Project Description: In collaboration with Umeå Energi, researchers at the Department of Computer Science, Umeå University, intend to design, develop, and evaluate a decision support system to assist in the management of heat and electricity production. We are now seeking a project assistant with a good understanding of software development. Competence in qualitative methods for requirements gathering and ontology modeling is particularly valued. The position is a temporary part-time employment (30%), lasting 4 months, starting on January 14, 2026, or by agreement. The project offers the opportunity to: - Work in an interdisciplinary research project between Umeå University and Umeå Energi - Gain experience in how energy production operates at Umeå Energi - Deepen your expertise in knowledge engineering methods - Write scientific reports As a project assistant with us, you will collaborate with senior researchers in artificial intelligence, which can be valuable for candidates looking to engage in practical applications of AI. Responsibilities: Your main responsibilities will include: - Conducting knowledge acquisition and modeling - Performing qualitative interviews to identify functional and non-functional requirements for building decision support systems - Analyzing data from interviews using qualitative methods - Creating knowledge bases based on the results of data analysis - Writing reports on knowledge acquisition and modeling Responsibilities may evolve over time.
