Responsibilities

  • Conducting interviews and testing preschool children and infants using various experimental methods (behavioral measures, distance methods/Zoom, eye-tracking) within a research project focused on children’s social development in preschool settings.
  • Testing of children primarily takes place in preschools within Uppsala municipality but may include travel to locations such as Stockholm.
  • Working hours may require some flexibility, including testing on weekends.
  • Communication and informational meetings with preschool staff, coding, data entry into databases, as well as other administrative tasks may also be included in the responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Ongoing or completed studies in psychology is a fundamental requirement.
  • Special attention will be given to competence or academic merits in developmental psychology.
  • Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, clarity, accuracy, conscientiousness, and high social competence are of utmost importance.
  • The ability to work effectively and independently is necessary, and the applicant should possess basic IT skills (MS Word, Excel, Zoom, etc.).
  • It is important to be able to engage with children and entertain them while executing procedures according to instructions and protocols.
  • Personal characteristics will be highly valued, and interviews, work samples, as well as reference checks may be part of the selection process.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with the methods used in the study (quantitative behavioral measures in psychological research with children, interview methodology, eye-tracking).
  • General research experience.
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative data processing.
  • IT skills beyond basic competencies (Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, statistics, programming, databases, etc.).

About the Position

The position is temporary for a maximum of 12 months. The extent is 80%. Start date: December 22, 2025, or as agreed upon. Location: Uppsala.
