Are you looking for a finance role where you can contribute to enabling life-saving humanitarian efforts around the world? We are now seeking a Project Finance Manager for the International Rescue Committee (RESCUE) – an exciting opportunity for those who want to work in an international context while helping to shape a key role within the Swedish organization.
About the Role
As a Project Finance Manager, you will play a central role in ensuring quality and transparency in RESCUE's international projects. You will support project managers and partners with financial planning, monitoring, and reporting – from project initiation to completion – thereby contributing to the optimal use of resources for people in vulnerable situations.
Since this role is new within RESCUE Sweden, you will also have a unique opportunity to influence and develop processes and working methods in this area. You will work closely with colleagues in Sweden as well as in other countries and be part of a global network of finance professionals.
About You
We are looking for someone who has previously worked in finance within aid organizations, preferably in humanitarian assistance, and has a good understanding of the specific requirements and challenges this entails. You have experience working with institutional donors, particularly SIDA, and are comfortable with the demands placed upon you.
You are a communicative and pedagogical person who can clearly and confidently explain complex financial contexts. You thrive in an international environment and enjoy collaborating in global teams with colleagues from different parts of the world.
Experience from international organizations with complex structures is an advantage, especially if you have worked in an American context. Additionally, proficiency in French, Spanish, or Arabic is considered a significant plus. Experience in leading or coordinating audits and an interest in providing training in finance are also advantageous.
You hold a post-secondary degree in finance or a related field and are fluent in both Swedish and English, spoken and written.
About RESCUE
The International Rescue Committee (RESCUE) was founded in 1933 at the initiative of Albert Einstein and is an international humanitarian organization operating in over 40 countries worldwide. Its mission is to help people affected by conflict, disaster, or crisis to survive, recover, and rebuild their lives.
In late 2019, RESCUE opened an office in Stockholm with the goal of raising funds from institutional and private donors in Sweden and influencing Swedish policy on issues related to aid and migration. Currently, there are 19 employees at the Stockholm office.
At RESCUE, you will have the opportunity to work in an international organization where your skills truly make a difference. You will be offered a meaningful mission where you can help shape a new role while collaborating with dedicated colleagues and partners around the world. The work environment is characterized by commitment, collaboration, and a strong desire for professional development – here you will both contribute and grow.
