Program and Exhibition Technician for the Cultural Department in Rättvik

The Community Development Department works with land and planning, environment and construction, business, culture, youth, and leisure. Approximately 45 employees work with us. The department has a broad operation that affects everyone who works in or visits Rättvik Municipality. Description Rättvik Cultural Center contains a library, natural history museum, art gallery, art collections, and image archives. The Cultural Unit offers a wide range of programs and exhibitions at the Cultural Center and our libraries in Boda and Ore. Rättvik Art Gallery has an excellent reputation and showcases Swedish and international contemporary art. We also display art and other exhibitions in the Cultural Center's entrance hall, typically with local roots. Job Description The Program and Exhibition Technician role is a central function in our operations, serving and collaborating with both the Cultural Unit and external partners. Your work will include preparing for lectures, concerts, theater performances, and more by arranging furniture and managing necessary technical equipment. You will also install art exhibitions in collaboration with artists and exhibition producers. Additional tasks include minor renovations, art framing, painting work, and similar activities. Basic sound and lighting for events and exhibitions are also part of the role. The position includes technical support for our Digital Center, staffing the information desk, and some administrative tasks. Qualifications We are seeking candidates with a high school diploma and experience or education in museum work, art gallery, or concert hall, preferably with specific knowledge of stage design, sound & lighting, or similar. We appreciate candidates with an interest in art, literature, and culture. To thrive in this role, you should be a self-driven practitioner. Personally, you are service-oriented, flexible, and structured. The position requires good digital competence and fluency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
