With us, you will have the opportunity to be part of Örebro University's ongoing journey, with a focus on our societal mission of research and education. Subject Area The subject area for the position is psychology. Background The Department of Behavioral, Social, and Legal Sciences (BSR) offers a unique combination of main fields including psychology, social work, law, and criminology, facilitating cross-disciplinary collaboration, meetings, and exchange of expertise. Education in psychology encompasses all three levels, from undergraduate to doctoral level. Instruction in the subject is provided through independent courses in psychology at both undergraduate and advanced levels, as part of the psychology program, as well as through participation in other educational programs. Research in the subject spans various areas of psychology, primarily cognitive, developmental, social, health, and clinical psychology. Research is mainly conducted within two research environments, LEADER (Center for Lifespan Developmental Research) and CHAMP (Center for Health and Medical Psychology). LEADER brings together researchers whose overarching goal is to understand fundamental aspects of psychological development and psychosocial adaptation among children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly (https://www.oru.se/forskning/forskningsmiljoer/hs/leader---center-for-lifespan-developmental-research/forskning/), while CHAMP gathers researchers focusing on how psychological processes interact with biological and social processes in the development of health and illness (https://www.oru.se/forskning/forskningsmiljoer/hs/champ/champ-forskning/). We are now looking for a new professor for our subject group who can further develop one of the prominent research areas within the subject through their research. As a professor, you are expected to communicate and collaborate regarding your own and the subject's activities. Administrative tasks are also included in the position. You are also expected to be available for leadership and administrative assignments at the university. Through your presence and engagement, you are expected to take special responsibility for supporting a collegial and inclusive culture within the organization. As a professor of psychology, you, along with the other psychology professors, have a particular responsibility to lead and develop the research activities of the subject. The position includes responsibility for educational quality at all levels. Research within the subject is conducted in two thematic directions and respective research environments. You are expected to conduct independent research that aligns with one of these research areas. Eligibility To be eligible for appointment as a professor, you must have demonstrated both scientific and pedagogical proficiency. A ten-week higher education pedagogical training or equivalent competence is required, as well as training in research supervision. Equivalent competence can be assessed and deemed qualifying by Örebro University.
