**Your Responsibilities**
Clinical oncology involves the treatment and follow-up of, as well as research on, cancer diseases.
As a professor, you will be active within the research community, participate in departmental activities such as seminars and workshops, be involved in research projects, communicate results through scientific publications, and help attract external research funding.
Cancer research at Linköping University (LiU) has shown positive development in recent years. As a professor in clinical oncology, you will work to strengthen clinical research in oncology and establish your own research group at Linköping University. We hope your research will complement and build upon existing research in oncology, with a particular focus on creating synergies and resonating well with current research leaders while fostering collaborations with existing strong research environments at LiU. You will create a clear link between preclinical research environments and clinical operations. You are expected to contribute to establishing and developing a group/research environment in clinical oncology, where multiple research leaders can operate and where younger researchers can receive support in their career development. As a professor, you will teach at both the undergraduate and advanced levels in Swedish and/or English, and supervise students within various programs at the Faculty of Medicine. Your work may include administrative responsibilities such as course design, course management, and assessment.
You will actively contribute to the university's development efforts. You will foster collaboration, which is an integrated part of the university's research and educational mission.

- Collaboration in education occurs by planning, organizing, and delivering comprehensive education in conjunction with actors from the surrounding community.
The position may also entail administrative duties such as institutional service or clinical leadership roles. We appreciate your participation and interest in leadership responsibilities.
Your work will include staying updated on national and international developments in your field and other societal developments that are relevant to your work.
At the Faculty of Medicine, student-active teaching methods are applied.
You will have a clinical role at the Oncology Clinic within Region Östergötland. Together with the clinic manager, you will strategically create conditions for a strong university medical unit and continue the work of developing the Linköping Comprehensive Cancer Center through regional, national, and international collaborations.
**Your Qualifications**
We are looking for someone who has demonstrated both scientific and pedagogical competence.
For this appointment, special emphasis will be placed on scientific proficiency.
Regarding scientific proficiency, the following will be assessed: Requirements for this position include that you are a specialist physician in oncology and have an established and active research line in oncology with potential to attract external research funding. Particularly advantageous is documented experience in securing grants from major funders. You should have experience building attractive research environments – engaging and motivating other researchers to drive the research environment forward. This should be demonstrated through strong leadership skills, collaboration abilities, and translational interest. You should be prepared to establish yourself in Linköping and actively contribute to the development of the research environment in oncology at the university in collaboration with Region Östergötland.
Desirable is your demonstrated strategic leadership in academic research, e.g., through research programs, institutional collaborations, or major research platforms. You will contribute complementary expertise to existing research in oncology and potentially hematology at LiU. You should have shown the ability to create and maintain national and international collaborations in both research and clinical settings.
Regarding pedagogical proficiency, the following will be assessed: Requirements for the position include that you have contributed to teaching at both the undergraduate and advanced levels in the subject area. Experience in planning, implementing, evaluating, reflecting on, and developing teaching, deepening and broadening your knowledge and skills both subject-wise and didactically and pedagogically, leading and developing educational activities, collaborating collegially, and cooperating with the surrounding community is advantageous.
Concerning collaboration, the following will be assessed: documented competence in collaboration within clinical practice and research. Particularly advantageous for this position is work with educational, clinical, and research initiatives similar to Linköping Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Other competencies that will be assessed for this position include clinical experience and expertise, as well as other skills relevant to clinical oncology.
Since teaching and/or research is conducted in both Swedish and English, you must demonstrate the ability to teach and/or conduct research in both languages.
You are flexible and have the ability to navigate between different pedagogical, clinical, and scientific contexts.
