The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society becomes safer for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand centers, and client transportation.
The Umeå operational area includes the closed Umeå prison, the open Sörbyn prison, and the Umeå remand center. We are undergoing extensive capacity expansion with significant developments in the operational area, including reconstruction and new construction. The largest professional group is correctional officers, but we also employ healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production leaders, and others. At Sörbyn prison, inmates are engaged in labor market training, learning centers, various treatment programs, or work in kitchen, carpentry, crop cultivation, packaging/assembly, etc. Sörbyn is an agricultural prison with grain cultivation and animal husbandry. At Umeå prison, inmates are occupied in wood/industrial work, kitchen, learning centers, and treatment programs. The Umeå prison and remand center is about a 10-minute walk from the nearest bus stop, and Sörbyn prison is best reached by car. Staff parking is available at all units.

We are now seeking production leaders for Sörbyn prison. We warmly welcome your application.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a production leader, you will have direct contact with our clients in the prison's production. In daily interaction with inmates, your work involves contributing to their learning and encouraging self-reflection.
After introduction, you will help manage daily operations as a production leader. You will plan, distribute work, and ensure deliveries meet set timelines. You will also participate directly in production work. Together with colleagues, you will be responsible for production planning.
Work as a production leader varies depending on the area. In the dairy barn, you will work with inmates and be responsible for animals and milking. In outdoor teams/agriculture, you will guide inmates in outdoor teams or agricultural activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking someone who is confident, stable, and self-aware. You communicate easily with others and have well-grounded, clear values. In stressful situations, you remain calm, stable, and controlled. You can make correct assessments and prioritize effectively. You understand how people acquire knowledge and adapt your communication style accordingly. You must also have physical capabilities to act physically if the situation requires.

To reach Sörbyn prison, you must have a B driver's license and access to a car. Excellent Swedish language skills (verbal and written) and complete high school education are required.
We consider the following as merits:
• Experience in team leadership
• Work experience in corrections, security work, social care, psychiatry, or healthcare
• Relevant language skills
• Experience in crop cultivation planning
• Weed control certification
• Experience in agriculture and/or workshop work
