Your upcoming role
VA SYD is in an expansive phase with the renewal and modernization of our facilities.

The program includes a new regional wastewater treatment plant in Sjölunda with outlet pipelines in Öresund, a large pumping station, sewage tunnels under Malmö and from Lund, as well as transfer pipelines to connect several municipalities.
The role of Production Manager for the Sjölunda wastewater treatment plant is newly established to consolidate efforts around the facility and prepare Sjölunda for MAXIMA. Here you will have a key role with the opportunity to influence how future wastewater treatment should be designed and commissioned in close collaboration with the program.
The production unit for Wastewater Treatment in Sjölunda is responsible for the operation and development of the plant and is part of the Production Department. As Production Manager, you have overall plant responsibility and lead the operations towards one of VA SYD's main goals – to deliver clean wastewater to Öresund. You will work to ensure long-term sustainability in a changing operation and maintain quality in daily operations. The role also involves providing support and direction to employees and building team spirit with a positive, development-oriented culture.
As Production Manager, your responsibilities include:
- Ensuring operational efficiency and developing the facilities with a focus on function, purification level, efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
- Personnel responsibility for the Operations Manager and leading staff by supporting, developing, and creating a modern, learning operational organization.
- Responsibility for the work environment and driving the strategic work environment agenda with safety as the highest priority.
- Actively contributing to the management team of the Production Department and collaborating with the MAXIMA program.
- In cooperation with other units and departments, identifying and addressing investment and development needs for the facility.
- Conducting market surveillance and collaborating with other organizations to discover new opportunities for improvement and innovation.
The Production Department consists of 140 employees who collectively are responsible for facility operations and the expansion, renewal, and improvement of our treatment plants. Production is responsible for operations, laboratory activities, maintenance, reception, processes, and development.
