About this role
Do you want to make a real impact? Here you will contribute to creating safety for people and societies. What you do matters.
Your Role
Are you technically interested, business-minded, and enjoy thinking long-term and strategically? Are you a good communicator who likes getting everyone to pull in the same direction? Then this job might be for you.
We are seeking a Product Manager with commitment, energy, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and internally. You need to be technically knowledgeable but also have good strategic capabilities and a strong interest in business. The Product Manager is responsible for the product throughout its entire product lifecycle and will ensure the product is attractive in terms of pricing and capabilities, and profitable. Operations in the product area continue throughout the lifecycle, from developing next-generation systems to managing and maintaining current products actively used by customers. Strong synergies exist with other products, and you will collaborate closely with product management colleagues to achieve the best results across the portfolio.
In your role, you will belong to the Kockums business area and the Underwater Systems business unit, which includes mines, depth charges, torpedoes, sensors, unmanned and remotely operated underwater vehicles. Business travel may be required.
For this position, we need a leader who can help everyone understand where we are heading and thus get everyone to pull in the same direction.
Your Profile
You likely have a technical degree, have worked technically for several years and feel ready to broaden your horizons. You might also be an experienced product manager who wants to take on a new product area, or experienced in production development/production responsibility and want to take a more comprehensive approach through the product lifecycle. You may see yourself as a technical generalist interested in and easily able to understand various technical areas, or perhaps have military experience and want to find effective solutions to military challenges today and in the future. You can critically evaluate your own ideas and argue convincingly for them. Experience with explosives in some capacity is meritorious.
We need someone who can see needs and opportunities far into the future and has the energy to work long-term. You will be responsible for a group of products, so the position requires you to juggle multiple tasks while also seeing synergies and reuse opportunities.
Please note that we work with ongoing selection, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.
The position requires that you undergo and are approved according to current security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has security classification requirements, this may entail specific citizenship requirements.
