About this role

Company Description

In Sweden, Vattenfall Värme delivers district heating, district cooling, and steam to industries, property owners, and residential customers in fifteen municipalities. We provide sustainable heating to approximately 200,000 Swedish households, as well as heat, cooling, and steam to industrial clients. We also produce electricity at several of our facilities, which is typically sold on the Nord Pool market. We are actively working according to a clear plan to reduce fossil emissions in our cities, from our own heat production, and from our suppliers, with the goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2040. We take pride in the fact that our main product, district heating, plays such a vital role in the energy transition and the new circular society.

About the Role

Vattenfall Värme is now seeking an Operational Process Owner who wants to influence tomorrow's climate-smart society. In this role, you will become part of the Maintenance & Technology unit, tasked with supporting heat and combined heat and power facilities with technical expertise, investigations, and input for investment projects. Here, you will join a team passionate about contributing to future development.

As an Operational Process Owner, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Further developing the work on production optimization from a technical, environmental, and economic perspective, with a primary focus on operational coordination, work processes, and collaboration.
  • Developing and managing a common operational strategy for production facilities.
  • Leading the work on "operational follow-ups," which is part of our effort to maximize the returns on our assets through analysis and monitoring of operational and facility data.
  • Supporting operations in their daily production planning—during strategic development efforts as well as in response to requests for operational support.
  • Acting as the internal product owner/system administrator for our operational optimization tool Aurora—this includes translating needs from our facilities into development requests to the supplier, as well as ensuring we extract maximum benefit from Aurora's features.
  • Driving the implementation of new production opportunities, for example in the electricity market, new fuels, commissioning, etc.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering with a focus on energy or equivalent competence acquired in another manner that we deem comparable.
  • Possesses knowledge of combined heat and power and its functions.
  • Has knowledge of or experience with control rooms and operational work.
  • Is proficient with computers.
  • Mastery of both Swedish and English, spoken and written.
  • Holds a valid driver's license (Category B).

It is advantageous if you have:

  • Knowledge of computational programs for optimization and simulation.
  • Experience in creating and developing work processes.
  • Knowledge in finance, such as cost calculations.

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone with good collaboration skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships. You are self-driven and structured in your work approach, with a clear focus on achieving set goals and are motivated by continuous improvement. We also expect you to be detail-oriented, while possessing the ability to see the overall picture and discern which details are important in various situations.
