About this role

E.ON in Sweden is part of the international energy group E.ON SE with headquarters in Essen, Germany. Around 70,000 people work within the group across 17 countries. In Sweden, around 2,100 dedicated employees work throughout the country. Our Nordic headquarters is located in Malmö. In Sweden, we deliver electricity, heating, and smart energy solutions to over one million households and businesses. E.ON's role is to take responsibility and drive development forward, enabling more people to transition. Through our investments and our customers' willingness to contribute, we work to continue electrifying society and meet future energy needs. About Us Within the Strategy & Sustainability department, we drive E.ON Nordic's long-term strategy and ensure we remain at the forefront of market development, sustainability, and new business opportunities. We collaborate closely with our various business areas to jointly drive and implement a shared strategy, where we engage with our customers and society as one E.ON. The energy system is undergoing comprehensive transformation – and in this change, E.ON takes an active role. We are therefore strengthening our strategic capacity by creating a new key position, Principal Lead Energy Economics & Policy. In this role, you will have a unique opportunity to shape the future energy system by analyzing, influencing, and developing policy and strategy for a sustainable and cost-effective energy transition. Your Role As Principal Lead Energy Economics & Policy, you will become a key person in E.ON's work of shaping the future energy system. You will take a holistic perspective on energy system development – from long-term cost development and business potential to regulatory and political conditions. In your role, you will translate complex interconnections into clear insights and become a central advisor in E.ON's strategic decisions, directly contributing to how we shape our role in the future energy landscape. You will work closely with colleagues in Strategy & Sustainability, Public Affairs, Finance, and our business areas. Together, you will transform political decisions, technical advancements, and market trends into concrete strategies and business opportunities for E.ON. In your role, you will among other things: • Conduct qualified analyses of energy markets, policies, and regulations to identify opportunities, risks, and strategic choices that strengthen E.ON's position in the energy transition. • Explore and evaluate new technologies in close collaboration with our business areas – and assess their impact on business, systems, and society. • Develop economic models and forecasts that provide a basis for investments, strategic decisions, and the direction of energy transformation. • Contribute to future energy policy by driving policy and regulatory issues in close collaboration with Public Affairs and our business areas. • Transform external insights into strategy by monitoring trends in energy economics, policy, and technology, and providing management with clear recommendations. • Identify new business opportunities that combine profitability with E.ON's sustainability goals and the needs of energy transition. • Communicate complex analyses clearly and inspiringly to management, our business areas, and external stakeholders. Position location is Malmö or Stockholm. Your Experience To succeed and thrive in the role, we are seeking someone who combines deep analytical expertise with the ability to see the big picture – economics, politics, technology, and business. We expect you to have a master's or doctoral degree in economics, energy economics, or a related field, and several years of experience in energy market analysis, policy work, or strategic advisory in the energy sector – perhaps from consulting or energy companies. As a person, we see that you enjoy an environment where analysis meets strategy, and where you can use your expertise to influence the direction of energy transformation. You have a commercial understanding of how political decisions and technological development can be translated into new business opportunities, and you have the ability to work independently on complex issues while also collaborating closely with colleagues across different parts of the organization. You are analytically sharp while also being communicatively skilled at explaining complex relationships clearly in a way that engages and inspires. You easily create trust, both internally and externally, and can credibly represent E.ON in industry dialogues, conferences, and public contexts. What is it like with us? With us, you will work in a future-oriented industry where your contribution makes a difference for more sustainable energy supply. You will become part of a competent team working on strategic key issues and have the opportunity to influence the direction for both E.ON and the industry as a whole. You will report to Carin Kuylenstierna, Director of Strategy & Sustainability. Warmly welcome to apply and join us on the path towards a sustainable society! Last application date is November 24.
