Press Spokesperson - Communication Unit in Södertälje Municipality To the Communication Unit in Södertälje Municipality, we are now seeking an experienced and versatile Press Spokesperson. You will work strategically and operationally with communication and press issues - creating relevant content and driving communication efforts. The unit's most important task is to ensure citizens' right to service, insight, good accessibility, and to create trust in municipal activities through communication - and to support operations through internal communication. We are responsible for and coordinate the municipality's overall communication. Additionally, we manage the municipality's central communication channels such as external web, intranet, social media, and printed materials. We provide strategic and operational support in operational processes, assignments, and projects. Your Work Responsibilities The central part of the assignment is to be overall responsible for the municipality's press work. You will plan, coordinate, and implement efforts together with operational managers in various offices. You will be the contact point for media and work actively to promote openness, transparency, and trustworthy communication. The assignment involves long-term strategic work and daily operational management of press issues. You will conduct media training, support managers and employees in media contacts, and can act as a spokesperson when needed. You will work with media analysis and monitoring tools to evaluate media visibility. An equally important part of the role is to handle communication assignments in press-related contexts. This includes producing texts, internal and external communication, photography and film, and planning and following up communication efforts. Assignments vary between ongoing support and specific projects, working across different offices and subject areas. Who are you? - You have several years of experience working as a press spokesperson in a larger municipality with high media pressure - You have relevant education, are a skilled writer, experienced in handling a wide range of press issues and crisis communication - You have good knowledge of media logic and can translate that understanding into strategic and operational support for our operations - Ability to formulate clear messages and create comprehensibility in complex contexts - Experience working across various communication channels and adapting messages for different target groups - You thrive in high-tempo environments and collaborating with different operations and their managers and employees Personal Qualities: You are driven, creative, solution-oriented with prioritization skills. You are unpretentious and collaborative, while taking responsibility and working independently. A crucial part of the role is supporting key personnel in the municipality's various operations in media contacts. You easily create and maintain good relationships with individuals, management groups, and external actors. You can see the big picture, think strategically, and enjoy operational work. The job involves both quick interventions and long-term projects. You must be able to handle parallel press issues while planning and driving the overall press work forward. Requirements: - At least 3 years of documented experience as a press spokesperson in a larger municipality (with "larger" defined as approximately 40,000 inhabitants) - Documented experience of at least 2 years of operational press communication work in a Swedish larger municipality - Documented experience acting as a spokesperson for a municipality in print and video media - Documented experience of supporting senior elected officials and management in a larger Swedish municipality for at least 1 year within the last 5 years Advantageous: - Experience with AI in the operational communicator role - Experience with social media communication - Experience with Clear Language communication principles - Photoshop skills We Offer: Approximately 6,000 people go to work in Södertälje Municipality every day.
