Next academic year, we will have nearly 440 students and 41 staff members. Primarily, we are an apprenticeship school. At our institution, students are enrolled in the Construction and Civil Engineering program, Sales and Service program, Automotive program, Crafts program, Electrical and Energy program, and the Plumbing and Heating program. Currently, Praktiska operates 36 upper secondary schools from Luleå in the north to Ystad in the south, with over 10,000 students and more than 1,000 employees.
We are looking for a Plumbing and Heating or Property Installer. We place great importance on personal qualities and value your ability to engage with students based on their skills and needs. Our students are eager to enter the workforce, and your primary task is to guide them there! In addition to your professional expertise, we expect you to have a broad network within your industry. As more than 50% of the education takes place in workplace-based learning (APL), collaboration with the local business community, good local knowledge, and solid industry insight are advantageous. A driver’s license and access to a car are required for the role, as you will regularly visit your students' APL locations.
You are highly committed, responsible, and easily collaborate with students, guardians, teaching staff, and school health services. You have the drive and wish to participate in the development and contribute to our educational operations. The person we envision with us is creative and open to new ideas and ways of thinking.
You will teach and guide our students in the Plumbing and Heating and Property programs alongside another Plumbing and Heating teacher. We see you as an important and driving force to develop both the program and the vocational subject, with students at the center and in collaboration with colleagues. Alongside subject-specific tasks, you will also have responsibilities like mentoring and APL visits, similar to other teachers at the school. We primarily communicate through Schoolsoft and work in a Google environment by sharing digital documents and plans, both with students and colleagues.
Our goal is for all students to achieve as much as possible in their learning. We know that a skilled, experienced, and curious teacher with positive expectations of students in the classroom/practical training room makes a difference. We prepare students for the workforce or further studies, and your main task is to guide them there. We are now looking for someone who wants to help us succeed with our students.
The position is a permanent employment with a start date as soon as possible or according to agreement. The permanent role is preceded by a 6-month probationary period.
