About this role

Job Responsibilities In the Department of Computational Science and Technology (CST), research is conducted on small groups of socially interactive virtual characters and agents (also known as SIAs). These embodied agents typically have a 3D representation and can interact with humans by expressing themselves intuitively through both verbal and non-verbal behaviors. We are now seeking a postdoctoral researcher to investigate interactions between small groups of socially interactive virtual characters and humans. The successful candidate is expected to conduct research at the highest international level and assist in supervising master's students. Qualifications Requirements - Completed doctoral degree or foreign equivalent degree. This qualification requirement must be met by the time the employment decision is made. - Demonstrated research expertise in real-time computer graphics programming, social behaviors of virtual characters, and human-centered evaluation methods. - Excellent research and peer-reviewed publications related to the above areas. - Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken, as required in daily work. Merits - Doctoral degree obtained within the last three years. - Demonstrated knowledge in the following three areas: advanced interactive methods for virtual characters (e.g., using modern game engines like Unity 3D); reality enhancement technologies (VR, MR, and AR) to enable immersive interactive experiences with virtual characters; advanced human-centered evaluation methods, such as collection and use of biometric data. - Awareness of diversity and equal treatment issues with a particular focus on gender equality.
