Welcome to apply for a job with us! Job Responsibilities You will work in a research laboratory focusing on molecular genetics and neural circuits related to pain and somatosensory systems. As a postdoctoral researcher, you will primarily conduct research. A certain amount of teaching may be included in your duties, up to a maximum of 20% of working hours. Qualifications To be eligible for employment as a postdoctoral researcher, you must have a doctoral degree, or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a doctoral degree. Your degree must be completed no later than the time Linköping University makes a decision on employment. We expect you to have a doctoral degree in neurophysiology, neuropharmacology, or a related field, strong quantitative skills, a solid scientific track record, and an enthusiastic approach to research. Furthermore, you are expected to have good knowledge of the physiology of primary sensory afferents and peripheral mechanisms of nociception. A requirement is also mastery of electrophysiological measurements on single cells and high-capacity calcium imaging using genetically encoded calcium indicators (GECI). Additionally, experience with behavioral experiments to study somatosensory systems in mice, mouse colony management, and maintenance of transgenic mouse colonies is required. It is particularly meritorious if you also have experience with quantitative analysis of physiological data, work with natural products, and knowledge of neuro-immunological interactions. You are expected to be fluent in English, both verbally and in writing. Great importance will be placed on personal qualities and suitability. Workplace You will be employed in Marcin Szczot's research group at the Center for Social and Affective Neuroscience (CSAN), Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences. The Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences (BKV) is one of the university's largest departments, primarily operating within the medical faculty. About the Position This is a time-limited employment of one year with the possibility of extension up to a total of three years. The postdoctoral position is full-time.
