About this role

**Job Responsibilities** The AICell lab (https://aicell.io) at the Department of Applied Physics at KTH and the Science for Life Laboratory (SciLifeLab) is a research group funded by the Data-driven Life Science Fellows (DDLS) program. Led by Wei Ouyang, the group focuses on building AI systems for data-driven cell and molecular biology. We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher in cell biology and microscopy imaging to join our interdisciplinary team. The project contributes to the AlphaCell program and ongoing work within the Human Protein Atlas, as well as other research groups at SciLifeLab, with the goal of creating automated and AI-supported microscopy workflows for large-scale imaging and modeling of human cells. You will be responsible for developing and optimizing wet lab and imaging protocols, coordinating cell-based analyses and labeling strategies, and contributing to automation and AI-driven imaging and modeling workflows. The role involves close collaboration with computational and engineering experts to integrate biological experiments with data analysis, modeling, and intelligent control systems. **Qualifications** **Requirements** - A completed PhD or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a PhD. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled by the time the employment decision is made. - The ability to express yourself in English as we work in an international environment. **Meritorious** - No more than three years since obtaining your PhD or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a PhD by the application deadline. - Documented experience in cell culture, transfection, labeling, and microscopy imaging, preferably including live cells or multiplexed experiments. - Ability to develop, optimize, and troubleshoot experimental protocols. - Enjoy working in interdisciplinary teams that combine biology, imaging, and computational methods. - Interest or experience in automation, AI-supported microscopy, and data-driven experimental design. - Experience working with LLM-based chat assistants or AI agents for scientific research – documented experience is an advantage. - Basic knowledge of programming or data analysis (e.g., Python or R). - Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, independence, and a collaborative spirit. - Possesses good pedagogical skills. - Awareness of diversity and equality issues with a particular focus on gender equality.
