Job Responsibilities
Research and development for chemical hazard assessment using cheminformatics and artificial intelligence methods, including QSAR modeling. Participation in data management best practices and AI agent projects. Collaboration in the MISTRA SafeChem Phase 2 project https://mistrasafechem.se/projekt/mistra-safechem.html.
Qualification Requirements
- PhD in computational/data science, bioinformatics, cheminformatics, or related field, or a foreign degree deemed equivalent. The degree must be completed by the time of employment decision. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed their degree within the last three years. Special considerations may be made for degrees completed earlier.
- Experience in data science applied to life science questions.
- Experience with machine learning/AI/multivariate methods, including both supervised and unsupervised methods.
- Experience with deep neural networks.
- Experience in cheminformatics.
- Proficient programming skills in Python with Git for version control.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, along with strong documentation abilities.
Desirable/Meritorious Qualifications
- Experience working in virtualized environments, Kubernetes, GPUs, and high-performance computing resources.
- Previous experience in chemical safety assessment.
- Experience in toxicology.
- Experience with AI agents.
About the Position
Fixed-term employment for 2 years according to central collective agreement. Full-time position. Start date: December 1, 2025, or by arrangement. Location: Uppsala
