About this role
Do You Want to Contribute to Improving People's Health?
Department of Global Public Health is an interdisciplinary department aimed at deepening knowledge about how population health can be improved at local, national, and global levels.
Many of the department's researchers serve as scientific advisors to authorities and decision-makers at regional, national, and international levels. The department is responsible for three international master's programs, and researchers actively participate in teaching at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. The department includes 12 research groups, approximately 120 doctoral students, and around 140 employees.
Within Our Research Team
You will find an interdisciplinary group of researchers working to achieve sustainable development goals, with a particular focus on ensuring that children not only survive but also develop as youth. We work globally in collaboration with academics, clinicians, and governments to support operational, observation-based, and evaluative research. In our group, you will encounter a supportive and committed environment where you can contribute to meaningful collaborations for improved evidence-based health policy measures.
Your Role
The person we hire will work on projects related to youth health and well-being in both Sweden and low- and middle-income countries. The candidate is expected to develop their own research ideas in areas such as digital violence, mental healthcare, stigmatization, and HIV. The candidate will also work on strategic coordination, with a significant portion of the work involving collaboration with team colleagues and fundraising across the department's youth health research areas.
The candidate is expected to actively engage within the department, including mentoring doctoral students, participating in and organizing seminars and committees, performing administrative tasks, and teaching. The candidate will be encouraged to work independently and supported in submitting their own grant applications.
The position is initially for 2 years, full-time, with the possibility of extension.
