Postdoctoral Researcher in Computational Biology at Uppsala University The Department of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology at Uppsala University has a broad research profile with strong research groups focused on cancer, genetic and autoimmune diseases. One of the core principles is to stimulate translational research and promote closer collaboration between medical research and healthcare. Research is conducted within six research programs: cancer precision medicine, cancer immunotherapy, genomics and neurobiology, molecular tools and functional genomics, neuro-oncology and neurodegeneration, and vascular biology. Vickovic Lab at Uppsala University is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, team-oriented postdoctoral computational researcher or statistician to expand computational efforts in understanding disease mechanisms. We are interested in developing integrative multimodal data analysis tools that include single-cell data, spatially resolved omics data, imaging data, clinical phenotypes, variants, and genotypes. Job Responsibilities: - Develop new computational, machine learning, and statistical analysis methods to integrate and analyze large-scale, spatially resolved RNA-seq and genotypic data using state-of-the-art technologies. - Develop data analysis strategies, write algorithms, and distribute computational tools for exploring very large datasets. Develop a community resource providing access to collected data. - Work closely with experimental colleagues and cores to understand the nature of generated data. - Actively participate in manuscript preparation for publication and present at scientific conferences. - Assist with peer and student mentorship. - Share expertise and provide training and guidance to group members as needed. Qualifications: - PhD in computational biology, statistics, applied mathematics, computer science, or a related discipline - Preferential experience in Bayesian inference, network inference, and image analysis - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Experience in writing scientific articles for publication - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously - Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills - Willingness to work in a high-tempo team environment Position Details: - Fixed-term contract: 12 months - Full-time - Location: Uppsala - Start date: To be determined Application deadline: December 10, 2025 Contact: Sanja Vickovic, [email protected] Uppsala University is an equal opportunity employer.
