You will work within a broad program spanning population genetics to human evolution. As a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for the Human Past (https://centerforthehumanpast.se/), you will collaborate with other postdoctoral researchers and doctoral students in an international environment.
Center for the Human Past
The Center for the Human Past is a groundbreaking initiative uniting three research areas: archaeology, genetics, and linguistics. Each research discipline has collected significant amounts of information and developed various research methods for analysis.
A central goal of the center is to educate a new generation of students and researchers with competence and insight into different theoretical models and analytical methods used across research areas, as well as the ability to work with developing databases. The center aims to illuminate and understand various aspects of human development over the past 10,000 years, thereby creating a comprehensive picture of human prehistory regarding language, culture, and genetic development in Africa, Oceania, and Eurasia.
Job Responsibilities
The postdoctoral researcher will conduct research on human history using paleo-population genomic methods. They will utilize ancient DNA techniques, population genomic principles, and computer-based analytical methods. Research may include aggregated data from genetics, archaeology, and linguistics.
