About the Job
We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher for the Landscape Governance and Management (LGM) subject group for a project on neuro-inclusive outdoor play environments. The focus of this postdoctoral position lies at the intersection of occupational therapy/work science and landscape architecture. It aims to explore how to provide and develop accessible and inclusive play environments for children with neurodiversity, including children with autism, ADHD, and sensory perception differences. The work will involve observations, interviews, and participatory methods, engaging groups such as children, caregivers, teachers, and municipal officials. The position also includes collaboration both internationally and with colleagues at the LAPF department and the Landscape Governance and Management (LGM) subject group.
Your Background
Qualifications required:
• PhD, preferably in work science or landscape architecture. The position is intended for a junior researcher, ideally with a PhD obtained no more than three years ago.
• Experience in research focusing on children with special needs and inclusive play environments.
• Practical experience working with children with special needs, preferably in occupational therapy.
• Documented ability to communicate in English, both spoken and written.
Desirable qualifications include:
• Ability to communicate research to both academic and broader audiences.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in research, as well as in international contexts.
About Us
The Department of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Management (LAPF) employs around 90 staff members engaged in research, education, and environmental analysis related to planning, design, management, and vegetation for landscapes in urban and rural environments, both in Sweden and internationally. The Landscape Governance and Management (LGM) subject group has a particular focus on how governance and management processes can lead to sustained and enhanced qualities for various user groups.
