Project Description
The project focuses on determining the structure and function of sugar transport proteins.
Job Responsibilities
We are seeking a biochemist with experience in MD simulation of membrane proteins, specifically membrane-bound transport proteins. The work includes planning and executing research projects to determine the structure and function of secondary solute transporters and their dynamics. Supervision of doctoral students and other project participants is also required. Experience working with membrane transport proteins; production, isolation, functional studies, and MD simulation are also requirements.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for a postdoctoral position, a doctoral degree or foreign equivalent deemed relevant must be completed. The degree should be obtained no later than the date of employment decision.
Assessment Criteria
It is meritorious if the doctoral degree or equivalent was obtained within three years prior to the application deadline. Experience in supervising students and technical staff is also important. Significant personal qualities include the ability to work independently and collaboratively within the research group to achieve common goals. During the selection process, research skills will be highly valued, with particular emphasis on scientific ability. The ability to generate and analyze MD data for membrane transport proteins, use cryo EM to analyze membrane protein structure and function, and knowledge of membrane protein production are requirements.
About the Position
The position is full-time and continues until further notice, for a minimum of two and a maximum of three years, with the possibility of extension under special circumstances. Start date: 2026-01-01 or by agreement.
