About this role

Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics SciLifeLab (https://www.scilifelab.se/) is a national center for molecular biosciences focusing on research in health and environment. The center combines leading technical expertise with advanced knowledge in translational medicine and molecular biosciences. SciLifeLab is a national resource driven by Karolinska Institutet, KTH, Stockholm University, and Uppsala University. The center collaborates with several other academic institutions. Administratively, the position will be placed at the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics, Stockholm University. For more information about our activities, please visit our website: http://www.dbb.su.se/. Project Description The project focuses on determining the structure and function of sugar transport proteins. Job Responsibilities We are seeking a biochemist with experience in NMR and MD simulation of membrane protein structural biology, with experience working with membrane-bound transport proteins. The work includes planning and executing research projects to determine the structure and function of secondary solute transporters and their dynamics. Supervision of doctoral students and other project participants is also required. Experience working with membrane transport proteins; production, isolation, functional studies, and NMR are also requirements. Qualification Requirements To be eligible for a postdoctoral position, a doctoral degree or foreign equivalent degree deemed relevant must be completed. The degree should be obtained no later than the time of the employment decision. Assessment Criteria It is meritorious if the doctoral degree or equivalent was obtained within three years prior to the application deadline.
