Job Opportunity: Postdoctoral Researcher in AI-Driven Molecular Dynamics
Join us to pioneer next-generation generative models that accelerate molecular dynamics. We seek a postdoctoral researcher to develop AI surrogates for molecular dynamics (MD), dramatically reducing computational costs and enabling breakthroughs in drug design and materials science. The position bridges machine learning and molecular science, offering opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and impactful research.
About Us
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Chalmers/University of Gothenburg leads cutting-edge research in machine learning within the Data Science & AI division (DSAI). With a diverse team of 30+ nationalities and strong industry/academic connections, we provide a dynamic, collaborative ecosystem.
The AI and Machine Learning in the Natural Sciences (AIMLeNS) lab is a close-knit team of computer scientists, chemists, physicists, and mathematicians working collaboratively to develop innovative methods that integrate traditional disciplines with modern machine learning and AI technologies.
Research Project
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoc to develop generative surrogate models for molecular dynamics (MD), a foundational technology with transformative applications in drug discovery and materials design.
Our group aims to create efficient surrogate models that reduce MD simulation computational costs by several orders of magnitude, building on previous work like Boltzmann Generators, Surrogate-model Assisted Molecular Dynamics, and Implicit Transfer Operators.
The Postdoc will lead conceptual development in close collaboration with the Principal Investigator and implement research with the AIMLeNS team. The role offers opportunities to mentor PhD students, supervise MSc projects, and engage with a vibrant network of national and international collaborators.
