About this role

The organization functions as a service and support resource for elected officials, associations, local chapters, and voters. The administrative organization is structured in three main areas of activity – communication, politics, and organization – complemented by central support functions such as finance, IT, and HR. Then we warmly welcome you to apply for the position of Political Secretary at the Moderate Party's Parliamentary Secretariat. The position is under the Legal Department, which is one of three departments in the Moderate Parliamentary Secretariat. Approximately ten people work in the department, whose tasks include assisting Moderate members in the Justice Committee, Constitutional Committee, Foreign Affairs Committee, Defense Committee, Environment and Agriculture Committee, and EU Affairs Committee. The position is primarily focused on the Justice Committee. Work Tasks As a Political Secretary, you will primarily work on communicating policy proposals, continuous environmental monitoring, and assisting in planning the committee's work. The role involves preparing background materials when the party's spokespersons or leadership are to comment in media or other public contexts, and providing practical support to committee members. You will assist with outward-facing activities such as writing debate articles and anchoring content within the organization. You will ensure maximum impact of policy in debates by supporting politicians with efforts in their constituencies, local press, and social media. You are expected to monitor and, if necessary, maintain contact with the Government Offices to ensure coordinated communication from various Moderate representatives. You will also help manage the general motion period, assist with bookings, and implement seminars and other events. The work also includes maintaining contact with Moderate representatives at municipal and regional levels. As a Political Secretary, you should also be prepared to assist the Moderate Party's press department, including covering press duties for a few weeks per year. All positions at the Moderate Party's Parliamentary Secretariat are subject to security vetting, which takes place before employment and includes a personal assessment, obtaining employment and educational certificates, and references. The position may be placed in a security class according to Section 17 of the Security Protection Act. Security-classified positions are also subject to register checks beyond the security vetting.
