Sweden has a strong tradition in Life Science, and now we are, together with our members, stepping up our work to give the industry an even clearer voice in societal debate. Therefore, we are now seeking a Policy Expert who wants to help strengthen our ability to drive, coordinate, and develop policy and advocacy issues.
We are Sweden's leading industry organization for Life Science and represent over 320 member companies active in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, medical technology, as well as service and collaboration organizations. Common to all our members is the goal of improving human health - in Sweden and the world.
About the Role
In this newly created role, you will be an important function in the organization and contribute to putting Life Science on the political map ahead of the 2026 election year and driving the industry's priority issues during the upcoming electoral period.
As a Policy Expert, you will monitor policy issues affecting the industry, analyze political initiatives, and support the organization's strategic work to ensure we continue to be a relevant and influential actor in societal debate. You will work closely with colleagues in communication, analysis, and member support.
The role is both strategic and operational; you will plan, coordinate, and implement initiatives together with our member companies and our various working and expert groups.
As a person, you thrive in a role where you can switch between writing, analyzing, coordinating, and implementing. You are a doer with an understanding of the political landscape, while appreciating order and structure. The CEO is the organization's spokesperson - your role is to create documentation, summarize insights, and shape the message together with members.
Example tasks:
• Monitor, analyze, and compile policy issues affecting the Life Science sector.
• Assist with reports, analyses, and decision-making documentation.
• Build and maintain a knowledge library with data and policy information.
• Support the development of consultation responses, reports, and presentation materials.
• Coordinate and drive the organization's work in the expert network - ensure meeting structure, progress, and documentation.
• Project manage policy and influence initiatives, e.g., seminars, roundtable discussions on a daily basis and in connection with Almedalen.
• Contribute to shaping and holding together the organization's policy narrative in collaboration with members, communication team, and other colleagues.
The position is a full-time role based in Stockholm.
Your Profile
We are looking for someone who is slightly irritated that development is moving so slowly, someone who is committed and results-oriented with a strong interest in contributing to something greater. You have a genuine interest in politics, business, and societal development and want to translate this into concrete impact for the Life Science sector.
We are a tight team that supports each other, we move quickly and have a lot of fun along the way. Sometimes we stumble, but there's always a colleague who extends a helping hand. To keep up with our pace, your ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks is crucial.
You likely have experience from:
• A politically governed organization (e.g., department, agency, or region)
• A role as a political expert
• Work with public affairs at an agency or within the Life Science industry
Qualifications and experience we are seeking:
• Academic degree in political science, economics, communication, natural sciences, technology, or equivalent field.
• Experience in political work, public affairs, or policy development.
• Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and formulate clear recommendations.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in Swedish and English.
• Independent and structured work approach, with the ability to drive processes forward.
• Relationship-building, collaborative, and attentive in dialogue with members and external actors.
