About this role
Härnösand is part of the Höga Kusten region, with its UNESCO World Heritage nature ever-present. Here, the sea is at the heart of the city. We take great pride in our location and have a strong sense of community. The creative energy fosters innovative businesses and a vibrant association and cultural life that excels in diversity and achieves high standards. In Härnösand, there is time for shared experiences.
Härnösand is growing and evolving. We are planning for more residents, new housing areas, and a stronger business sector, while also cherishing our unique natural environment, cultural landscape, and the quality of life of our small town. We are now looking for a temporary placement developer who wants to contribute to the overall development of places, rural areas, and the tourism sector in the municipality.
With us, you will work in a municipality where community development, sustainability, and citizen benefit go hand in hand. We build our operations on collaboration, engagement, and optimism for the future – and you will play a key role in implementing these values in practice.
**About the Position**
As a placement developer with us, you will work on development issues to create sustainable living environments and attractive places throughout the municipality of Härnösand and contribute to the development of the tourism sector in close cooperation with residents, businesses, associations, and other community stakeholders.
You will be part of the Strategic Community Development unit within the Growth Department. The unit's primary task is to lead and coordinate the municipality's comprehensive plan and long-term community building strategies, and it also has overall responsibility for the municipality's land, development, and local supply.
**Responsibilities:**
- Coordinate and drive the municipality's work on rural development and place development.
- Work strategically and operationally with development initiatives in all living environments in the municipality.
- Participate in the municipality’s collaboration with the Höga Kusten destination and contribute to the development of the tourism sector.
- Collaborate with the municipality's business unit on matters concerning local attractiveness and the business climate.
- Analyze development trends and produce planning materials.
- Engage in dialogues with residents, entrepreneurs, associations, politicians, and authorities.
- Represent the municipality in interregional and other external contexts.
**Qualifications**
We are looking for candidates who have:
- A higher education degree in urban planning, cultural geography, rural development, tourism, or another relevant field deemed appropriate by the employer.
- Experience in place development, rural development, or destination development, or other relevant experience as assessed by the employer.
- Experience in strategic planning in a municipal or regional context.
- Strong proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
- A valid driver's license category B.
As a person, you are analytical, structured, and proactive. You enjoy working both independently and with others, and you have the ability to combine strategic thinking with practical implementation. You contribute to creating engagement, clarity, and direction in the municipality's development efforts.
**We Offer**
With us, you will have the opportunity to be part of a municipality with strong optimism for the future and clear sustainability ambitions. You will influence how Härnösand grows and develops while being part of a competent and engaged team in community planning. Additionally, we offer various benefits, wellness initiatives, and flexible working hours – all to create a sustainable and inspiring work environment.
We offer a workplace with good cohesion, short decision-making paths, and close collaboration among different professional fields. Here, you make a difference every day.
