Site Manager

About the Role

As Site Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the operations at SRS's facility in Västerås. You will lead an operations team of approximately 60 employees and be responsible for the work environment, safety, property issues, as well as environmental and sustainability goals.

SRS is on a development journey where digitization and automation are important factors in increasing our efficiency, particularly in our facilities. We need a site manager who takes a strategic perspective on developing our production into a modern and efficiently automated facility.

The role reports to the COO and is a central part of the operational organization. At Svenska Retursystem, there are good opportunities for development both within your area and toward other roles in the organization.

Main Responsibilities

• Be a driving force in continuously developing the facility's processes and flows to meet set goals regarding quality, availability, and efficiency, in close collaboration with your team and other site managers.
• Develop and be responsible for the work environment and physical safety at the facility, which is an important part of daily work. You will lead efforts to further develop a safe and inclusive workplace culture characterized by well-being, engagement, and high employee attendance.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations regarding safety, health, and the environment, and work proactively on these issues.
• Ensure stable and available operations with effective resource utilization by, together with your team, developing processes and methods that drive the facility's development, such as maintenance and production management.
• Contribute to responsible corporate sustainability by ensuring the facility meets and develops in line with established environmental and sustainability goals and actively participates in the company's sustainability efforts.
• Also, within your area of responsibility, you will oversee the property and fire and safety responsibilities for the facility.
• In this role, you are responsible for financial goals, forecasts, and budgets, and together with the local team, you will develop plans for investments and operations over a 3-5 year horizon.

Experience and Skills

We are looking for someone with a university degree in a relevant field and several years of experience in leadership roles with personnel responsibility for both hourly and salaried employees. You are fluent in Swedish and English, have strong leadership abilities, and experience leading through other managers as well as developing others' leadership skills.

You have a well-developed ability to build relationships and collaborate with various stakeholders; you are communicative and possess strong personal drive combined with a high sense of responsibility. You are a skilled problem solver with a structured and analytical approach, and you have good IT skills, particularly within business systems.

Experience from the manufacturing industry with high flows, especially from food or similar operations, is an advantage. Moreover, if you have a solid background in operations and understand the entire production flow, it would be a strong plus.

Your contribution is important for the development of the Västerås facility, but also for advancing the development of the operations organization through cross-functional collaboration.
