**About the Workplace**
The Planning and Development Unit plays a crucial role as Ale grows, responsible for the municipality's planning activities, land ownership, and development projects.
We are located in an expanding municipality and region with many large housing projects ahead of us. Our two main towns, Nödinge and Älvängen, are developing into small cities. Ale is just the right size for those who want a varied job in planning and development issues. The tasks are both large and small, and we have direct contact with everyone from the market to politics. Here, you can influence community development so that the municipality continues to grow.
**Job Responsibilities**
As the Unit Manager for Planning and Development, you are part of the Community Building Administration and thus contribute to the development of the entire Ale municipality. As Unit Manager, you are responsible for coordinating the municipality's planning processes, driving development projects, and ensuring strategic land use. You work closely with politicians, property owners, and other community stakeholders to create the best possible conditions for the municipality's growth and development.
As the head of the Planning and Development Unit, you are responsible for the unit's work environment, budget, operations, and personnel. The unit currently has 14 employees, including 5 land and development engineers and 6 planning officers. The Planning and Development Unit, along with the Building, Environment, Infrastructure, Waste Management, and Water and Sewage Units, as well as the Support and Development Staff, is part of the Community Building Administration and reports to the Community Building Committee.
**Qualifications**
We expect you to have a higher education degree in areas such as community building, physical planning, architecture, or another equivalent qualification. You have several years of experience working with planning and development issues, from processes in the planning stage through implementation to project follow-up in the community building field. Previous experience as a manager is required. It is advantageous if you have good insight into relevant legislation in the area and it is desirable if you have previously worked in a politically governed organization.
As a person, you are clear, driven, and self-sufficient. With a natural ability to build good relationships, you collaborate well with others. You are stable, secure, and trustworthy while being driven by goals and results. With good communication skills and positive energy, you lead forward in a solution-oriented manner.
