About this role
Do you want to facilitate the work for others and contribute to ensuring that every placement maintains high quality? As a Placement Coordinator, you will be the hub between social services and external actors. This is a project position for one year where you will make a real difference for both individuals and the organization.
YOUR ROLE
As a Placement Coordinator, you will play a key role in developing and ensuring the quality of the municipality's work with placements of children, youth, and adults in external care and support services. You will be the link between social workers, managers, controllers, support functions, and external care providers, ensuring that each placement meets the identified needs.
You will create effective routines for follow-up, be responsible for the control of contracts and invoices, and ensure that our resources are used in a cost-effective manner. By keeping track of notice periods and conditions, you will ensure that contracts are followed and documented correctly.
An important part of the assignment is to support managers during procurements, renegotiations, and potential disputes, as well as to disseminate knowledge about applicable guidelines for external purchases. You will receive inquiries from social workers, initiate placement meetings, and follow up to ensure that placed individuals receive the right support according to their care and implementation plans.
In short: you ensure that every external placement functions as it should – for the individual, the organization, and the municipality.
YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and experience working within social services, which provides you with the knowledge of legislation, ethics, and individual needs required to understand the assignment from both a human and legal perspective. Thanks to your previous experience, you are familiar with how the processes surrounding placements work in practice.
You need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, to communicate clearly, document accurately, and explain complex issues to different target groups. It is an advantage if you have experience in contract management, procurement, or financial matters – this will help you see the overall picture between needs, costs, and results.
When handling complex cases and sensitive issues, you are clear and calm. Your analytical ability allows you to see the connection between quality, cost, and results, enabling you to make well-informed decisions. You drive processes forward so that follow-ups, contracts, and routines truly lead to improvement. You quickly build trust and contribute to collaboration between social workers, managers, and external actors – a prerequisite for the assignment to function in practice.
YOUR NEW WORKPLACE
As a Placement Coordinator, you will be part of the individual and family care department, focusing on children and youth initiatives. We work together to create a safe and sustainable Skellefteå. In this role, you will closely collaborate with several other units within the department, giving you a broad insight into the entire operation. If the role of Placement Coordinator proves to be successful, there is hope that it will become a permanent position with us.
We highly value collaboration, knowledge sharing, and engagement. You will join a workplace with a strong sense of trust and the opportunity to influence how the work develops – where you will have the chance to help shape new working methods that make a real difference, both for individuals and for the municipality as a whole.
