About this role

Special Logistics Group (SLG) is the operational logistics resource within the Swedish Armed Forces Special Operations Command (FMSF), tasked with logistics management, host nation support, supply procurement, transport services, and technical services at both operational and tactical levels. SLG is also developing capabilities in unmanned systems to meet the logistics needs of FMSF. SLG operates across the entire conflict spectrum with national as well as international missions alongside other components of FMSF. SLG has units located in both Örebro and Skövde. Work with the Special Operations Forces - Swedish Armed Forces Main Responsibilities As a UAV pilot at SLG, you will work in a dynamic environment where material and method development is initially the focus. As a UAV pilot, you will utilize your personal skills on UAV systems aimed at providing alternatives for mobility in solving logistics tasks. In addition to flying the system, you are expected to conduct mission planning for both controlled and autonomous mission profiles after completing your training. Following your training, you will also be involved in preventive and corrective maintenance of the systems. Flexibility, precision, analytical skills, and a certain level of technical understanding are prerequisites for achieving expected results. In the long term, once your unit is established, you will operate during missions and exercises both in Sweden and abroad. After the selection process, you will initially undergo a training phase for several months before joining one of our operational units. Qualifications • Completed officer training or specialist officer training • Valid driver's license (Category B) • Swedish citizenship Medical Requirements • No serious allergies • No illnesses requiring continuous or recurring medication/treatment • No need for medication that could affect the performance of duties or lead to acute health deterioration • Adequate vision concerning color, glare, darkness, and strabismus • Adequate visual acuity, correction allowed • Meet hearing requirements for sensitive radio traffic Desirable Qualifications • Previous service as a UAV pilot • Previous service in logistics units • Prior experience in mission planning for flight operations • Formal qualifications in UAV or other flight services • Driver's license or military driver's permit for heavy vehicles • Completed international missions • Good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English Personal Attributes To thrive with us, you should possess good social skills, be perceived as secure and stable, and find it easy to collaborate in a team. Selection Process Those deemed suitable after the application process will be invited to selection tests. The selection tests are divided into two parts and will take place over approximately seven days at the end of March and in April 2026. The first part is a field exercise lasting three days. Those assessed as suitable after the first part will be invited to a second part, primarily testing the personal, psychological, and medical profiles. Information regarding working hours, travel, and equipment will be provided in connection with a potential invitation to the selection test. Additional Information This position is a military appointment and requires approved officer or specialist officer training. The position is full-time, permanent, with a start date of August 1, 2026, and training commencing on August 3, 2026. The role involves recurring travel both domestically and internationally. Work locations are Örebro or Skövde.
