Prima Omsorg i Norden AB is an assistance provider that strives to maintain the highest possible quality in the delivery of assistance. Our goal is always to ensure the highest possible quality of life for the assistance users who have chosen us as their provider. We believe that the path to this is through training and guidance. Therefore, as an employee at Prima Omsorg, you can expect to receive valuable knowledge and continuous support regarding your tasks.
Are you looking for a job where you can develop and grow as a person? And at the same time help another person do the same?
Then you should apply for a position as a substitute personal assistant with our client in Vellinge center. We are looking for someone who wants to work night shifts from 15:00 to 09:00. We need to expand our team with a substitute and are seeking someone who is responsible and engaged in their work, while also being humble and secure as a person. This is an important and meaningful job where, as an assistant, you enable our client to have a meaningful day—every day!
The client is a 26-year-old man with autism and an intellectual disability. As an assistant, you need to be attentive and adaptable. You should approach the work with a strong desire to understand our client and his needs, while also showing great respect for his privacy. You need to be engaged and communicative, as it is very important for the client to be both understood and to have the opportunity to understand based on his circumstances. You should be calm and able to handle moments of passivity when they arise.
We have a team around our client, but we need to expand it and are looking for someone who collaborates with colleagues and has a pedagogical mindset. You should be able to guide and motivate when needed, while also knowing when to step back. Your tasks will include supporting and empowering the client in daily activities, planning and structuring using the client’s visual support. We actively work with visual support as part of creating predictability and clarity in daily life. For our client, visual support serves as a compass in life.
Assistant's Role and Experience
As a person, you should be positive and solution-focused. It is important that you are secure in yourself and possess a high degree of personal maturity. It is a significant advantage if you have experience, knowledge, and understanding of working with individuals on the autism spectrum. The right personal qualities constitute a large part of suitability for this role.
You will receive an introduction that will be followed up continuously; we will create a joint plan so that both you and the client feel secure together. The introduction includes completing our introductory training, followed by our other training sessions. The trainings are mandatory and an important part of equipping you with the skills and tools necessary to succeed in your work.
Flexibility regarding working hours is required, and this is, of course, something that is mutual. You are an important resource for us, which means we value you and your free time, but sometimes you will need to step in on short notice in the absence of your colleagues. We believe in strong teamwork, which is fostered through availability, presence, and helpfulness at all levels. Working hours will be from 15:00 to 09:00, with awake night shifts. As the client has a car that is actively used in daily life, it is required that you have a driver’s license.
