Personal assistance is an assessed support service designed to enable individuals with disabilities to participate in society and lead an independent life to the greatest extent possible. This service is part of the care and support sector in Skövde Municipality.

JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a new employee to assist a young man who is moving out of his home.
We seek someone who desires an exciting and developing job. As a personal assistant, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the quality of life for our clients. Our work is based on our core values of safety, responsibility, and respectful interaction, and you play a significant role in the well-being of the client. You will work carefully and professionally with the clients, both in and outside their home environment, in collaboration with other team members. This also involves working towards good cooperation with other professionals and family members.
As a personal assistant, you will base your work on the client's individual needs, wishes, and implementation plan to best support and assist them in achieving the highest possible quality of life in their daily routine. The job also includes service tasks, such as preparing simple meals, dishwashing, laundry, and cleaning. You will assist the client with mobility and personal hygiene. You will work with clear pedagogical methods and established routines. The assignment also includes performing delegated and prescribed healthcare tasks according to the Health and Medical Services Act (HSL). Documentation in our systems is also an essential part of the job.
In the care and support sector, we work flexibly across different units. This means you may also need to work shifts at other workplaces within the sector.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for candidates with a high school diploma and passing grades from the health and social care program or the child and leisure program, or other equivalent education. We prefer candidates with post-secondary education in a relevant field, such as personal assistant training or treatment assistant training. Experience working with mental or physical disabilities and/or experience with the Individual Needs in Focus (IBIC) approach is a plus (but not a requirement). Experience with delegated tasks, clear pedagogical methods, low-arousal responses, and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), as well as experience in medical care, is also advantageous.

You are service-oriented and place the individual's needs at the center. To work with us, you need a valid B driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle.
In this role, it is important that you can communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish, as you and the client need to understand each other, as well as for documentation purposes. You should be computer literate and preferably have experience with documentation in journal systems.
