About this role
We are currently seeking an engaged and unpretentious personal assistant to take on a valuable assignment.
From the client:
“I am soon to be 40 years old and have a daughter who is almost 12 years old and stays with me sometimes. About 2 years ago, I suffered a severe stroke that left me completely paralyzed. I have fought my way back and today have function in one hand, my neck, and some function in all my limbs. I am also working on regaining my voice. I previously had a very active life and now need help with most things, which has taken time to adjust to. I worked full-time as a customer service manager, had my daughter part-time, engaged in social issues, was always doing something, rarely sat still, and participated in everything from flea markets, cultural activities, gardening, cooking, exercise, family, and friends. As an assistant, I am looking for someone who can be my support and motivate me when needed so that I can get better.”
You will assist a client with a recently acquired physical disability but with preserved cognitive abilities. This assignment requires respect for the client’s autonomy and privacy, as well as an empathetic and attentive attitude. We appreciate qualities such as a shared interest in culture, gardening, and family, although this is not a requirement. The most important thing is that you are present, responsible, and easy to collaborate with.
Your ability to respond to the client’s needs and take your own initiatives to inspire and motivate is crucial. Communication and patience are key components in this role.
Experience and Qualifications:
Experience in personal assistance or similar caregiving work is advantageous. It is desirable that you can provide a criminal record extract.
