About this role
I am looking for a smoke-free individual aged 20-35 who could fit into my daily life. You should be reasonably technically inclined, meaning you are comfortable with fixing computers, iPhones, and using various tools. I also require you to be fluent in both Swedish and English.
Other important qualities:
• You should be sociable with people of different ages.
• You need to be proactive and able to see what needs to be done without being told.
• You must not be dependent on your mobile phone during working hours!
• Fluent Swedish in both speech and writing.
• Good English in both speech and writing.
• A driver's license is a requirement! If you do not have one, please do not apply. I have my own car that the assistants will drive.
A bit about me and my condition:
• I am a 50-year-old man who is paralyzed from the shoulders down due to a spinal cord injury and I use a power chair that is controlled by suction and blowing.
• I am an outgoing person who enjoys being where things are happening and socializing with others. When the weather does not allow me to go outside, I enjoy watching a good movie or tinkering with my home.
• I live in an apartment in Västerås where most of the work will take place.
• It is very important that I can trust you and that you take the job seriously; personal chemistry is much more important than qualifications!
Experience in caregiving is a significant plus, but not a requirement! The tasks will include managing my personal hygiene, physiotherapy, taking care of the home, cooking, driving, and other everyday tasks that I need assistance with.
Here is what the working hours look like:
24-hour shifts: You start at 14:00 and end at 14:00 the following day. Approximately 1-2 shifts per week (4.5 hours are designated as waiting time/on-call).
3-hour shifts: You start at 11:00 and end at 14:00. Approximately 1-2 shifts per week.
