Personal assistance is designed for individuals with disabilities who live independently and require extensive support to manage their basic needs. The user receives support through a personal assistant who is present in the home of the person with a disability. The service is provided in accordance with the Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS). JOB DESCRIPTION We are looking for a personal assistant for a teenage girl who is in her final year of high school. She lives with Rett syndrome and a severe developmental disability. She is wheelchair-bound, has significant care needs, and receives her nutrition through tube feeding. Your role is to be there for her in her daily life and provide support with basic needs such as personal care, hygiene, and other tasks that help her day run smoothly. On weekdays, you will accompany her to school to support her throughout the school day. The teachers are responsible for the education while you ensure that she is comfortable and that her needs are met during school hours. Together with the team and with the girl as the focus, you will work based on an individual implementation plan. The goal is to create a safe, stable, and meaningful everyday life where she can feel included and experience the little extras that enhance her quality of life. The work takes place during the day, evenings, and weekends. To thrive and succeed in your role, it is important that you feel confident in yourself and in your role as an assistant. You will work independently with the girl but will be part of an engaged team that meets regularly for user-focused meetings where you collectively plan and develop working methods and routines. Our user lives with her family in Stallarholmen and Åker, so a driver's license and access to a car are necessary for daily functioning. QUALIFICATIONS The user is looking for an assistant who has: • A valid driver's license (B) and access to a car. • Good computer skills as documentation is part of the job. • Strong ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. • Good physical condition and mobility. It is also advantageous if you have: • Completed a nursing program or have other education that the employer deems equivalent. • Experience working as a personal assistant. • Experience using lifting aids. • Experience with Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC). • Experience with tube feeding.
