Personal Assistant, 30-55% Needed in Partille Work hours are scheduled Wednesdays from 15:00 – Thursday 07:45, including six hours of on-call sleeping shift. The position also includes weekend shifts, mostly full-day shifts. The individual seeking assistance is 24 years old and lives in his own apartment in Sävedalen, near bus X5 public transport. He has no major physical disabilities, so there are no heavy lifting requirements. However, he has an intellectual disability, autistic traits, and is very routine-oriented. He enjoys many leisure activities, likes to laugh and communicate. He uses sign language and picture support when communicating, so it's important that you speak clear and good Swedish, as you will interpret for him and his surroundings. Your role includes motivating him to get started, so it's an advantage if you have a pedagogical approach, while also being able to work with a low-affect method. As a person, you are confident, positive, organized, and communicative. The position starts as an hourly employment with supervision and introduction, allowing us to "get to know" each other. If we work well together, the position will transition to a fixed-term employment for the duration of the assistance assignment, with the agreed working hours. GIL has coordinated personal assistance since 1989. The cooperative has roots in the Independent Living movement, based on the principle that the person with a disability knows best how they want to live their life. Typically, the person receiving assistance is their assistants' closest manager, or a person with in-depth knowledge about the assisted individual is designated.
