**HR Officer**
At the Department of Biology and Environmental Science (BioEnv), there is educational and research activity that spans from the ecosystems of the mountain regions, through forests, land, and waterways, all the way out to the sea. In these environments, we work with various biological organizational levels from genes, through individuals and populations to communities and ecosystems. We operate within ecology, evolution, physiology, systematics, and combinations of these fields to understand the significance of natural and human-induced environmental changes.
The department's activities are conducted at two different locations: GU's facilities in Natrium at Medicinaregatan 7B in Gothenburg and at the Kristineberg Marine Research Station, which is operated by the Marine Infrastructure at the University of Gothenburg. The current position is based at the Natrium facilities.
**Responsibilities**
As an HR Officer, you will have overall responsibility and provide broad support in HR matters and processes, both at a strategic and operational level. You will play a central role in driving the development, implementation, and quality assurance of the department's HR processes and serve as a qualified support to both management and staff.
Operational support includes, among other things, interpretation of laws and agreements, recruitment, salary reviews, information to and negotiations with staff organizations, competence supply, workplace environment issues, as well as rehabilitation and work adaptation.
The department has two HR Officers who work closely together across the entire HR area, each with different focus areas. You thrive in change and have a natural digital working style with an interest in further development within digitalization. The role also involves contacts with other authorities and organizations.
**Qualifications**
We are looking for someone with extensive experience in qualified and broad HR work, as well as a relevant academic degree focused on HR/personnel, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. Experience in HR work within the public sector, particularly in higher education, is an advantage. Experience in interpreting laws and agreements, recruitment, and rehabilitation/work adaptation is a requirement.
As a person, you are communicative, responsible, and unpretentious. You easily build trusting relationships and collaborate across organizational boundaries, while also maintaining integrity and the ability to drive issues independently. You have a holistic perspective on the HR field and the ability to present well-founded solutions based on analysis and applicable regulations.
You are proactive, structured, and enjoy an advisory role where both strategic thinking and operational implementation are important components. A very good ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is required as we operate in an international environment.
Experience working in SharePoint is essential for digital work at the department. We also appreciate that you are accustomed to a systematic and digital working approach and can easily adapt to new systems.
In this recruitment, the university will primarily consider the candidate who, after a comprehensive assessment of competence and skills, is deemed to have the best conditions to carry out and develop the current tasks, collaborate with staff, and contribute to a positive development of the operations. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
