**Job Description**
**Responsibilities**
The rescue service is organized with personnel selected under service obligation, in accordance with the provisions of the Act (2003:778) on protection against accidents. Personnel in the rescue service do not have formal employment and receive no salary. However, you will be compensated for hours worked when called out under service obligation for activities such as drills, training, and operations. Compensation is provided according to the applicable wage agreement for on-call fire service personnel. The team primarily conducts rescue operations in Kyrkhult and surrounding areas but may be deployed throughout the federation during larger incidents. As a member of the rescue service, you will not have on-call duty or standby duty.
The primary responsibilities include:
- Reporting for duty during alarms such as forest fire suppression, traffic accidents, medical emergencies (cardiac arrest), and post-extinguishing operations. Other tasks may also arise.
- Participating in annual drills totaling no more than twenty (20) hours.
**Qualifications**
Requirements for the positions include a valid driver's license with B category and that you are in good health with strong physical capabilities. This means you must pass the medical examination and physical tests. The physical tests include a treadmill test, swimming test, and other practical assessments. It is advantageous to have a driver's license with C category; otherwise, you commit to obtaining a C category license.

**Additional Information**
Employment begins with training in general fire service, known as preparatory training, in which you must be approved to be offered a position. The training is conducted during the day over three weeks.

The Western Blekinge Fire Service is a municipal federation that conducts fire services. The federation consists of the member municipalities of Karlshamn, Sölvesborg, and Olofström, which together have approximately 60,000 residents. The Western Blekinge Fire Service has a total of about 190 employees distributed among daytime personnel, a full-time crew, five part-time crews, a rescue service, and a forest fire service.
