Welcome to us At the Järva District Administration, we are in the midst of an exciting transformation journey as we have just taken over the management of park and nature maintenance in our own municipal operation. The Järva district consists of the neighborhoods of Akalla, Husby, Kista, Rinkeby, Tensta, Hjulsta, Bromsten, Flysta, Lunda, Sundby, and Solhem, home to approximately 95,000 residents. We have high ambitions to develop the public environments of the district and are now looking for a park engineer to serve as a substitute during parental leave. You will belong to the urban environment unit, which consists of several park engineers reporting to the unit manager. Your role As a park engineer, you will work on the development and management of the district's parks, green areas, and playgrounds. In collaboration with the unit responsible for the operation of parks and green areas, you will plan, implement, lead, and follow up on projects in the physical urban environment. Together with your colleagues, you will closely collaborate with other administrations and companies within the City of Stockholm. The work also involves many other points of contact with, for example, contractors, property owners, suppliers, and consultants. Daily case flow is managed in close coordination with relevant parties using a digital support system. Your responsibilities include engaging in dialogue with and responding to inquiries from residents who contact the district administration. You will need to write various types of documents, applications, and referral responses, as well as participate in procurements related to the urban environment. Your qualifications and experience To succeed in the role of park engineer, we expect you to have: - A university or college degree, such as landscape architect, landscape engineer, or similar, which we consider equivalent - Experience in a similar role and field - Experience in project management - Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. We consider it an advantage if you have: - Experience working in a politically governed organization - Experience with mapping programs, such as dpMap - Knowledge of working climate-consciously and circularly with green issues - Good knowledge of biodiversity - A valid B driver's license. To succeed in this role, you are communicative and collaborative, as you will have many different contacts, both internal and external. You enjoy being self-driven as you have primary responsibility for your projects, but support from colleagues is also available. You are guided by goal and result-oriented thinking in your daily work to drive your projects forward. Finally, you have the ability to see the bigger picture and ensure that your decisions and actions always prioritize the best interests of Järva.
