Located in beautiful nature with sea and forest, near the major cities of the Öresund region, the Operating Department in Ängelholm belongs to the Department of Anesthesia, Surgery, and Intensive Care at Helsingborg Hospital. Currently, we primarily conduct planned day surgery. The department consists of operating, anesthesia, sterile, day surgery, and recovery units. We perform specialized planned care in orthopedics, surgery, gynecology, urology, and ear, nose, and throat services for both adults and children during daytime hours, Monday through Friday. We are responsible for the entire pre-, peri-, and post-operative flow. The Recovery Ward has twelve monitoring beds for elective and inpatient surgery. The Sterile Processing Unit serves both internal and external customers. We have approximately 90 employees, with a team of nurses, operating room nurses, anesthesia nurses, nursing assistants, sterile technicians, doctors, and unit managers. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We now welcome you who are seeking a varied and stimulating job where you will play a significant role in collaboration with your colleagues in the operating team! As an operating room nurse, you will work with pre- and peri-operative care. Together with your colleagues, you will work to provide the patient with the best possible care. With warmth, security, and competence, you will strive to make the patient feel well cared for before and during the operation. As an operating room nurse, you will assist in all types of surgeries and participate in preparation and follow-up work, such as instrument setup and handling used instruments. In your daily work, you will also manage a significant amount of medical-technical equipment. Here, you will schedule your work shifts according to an activity-adapted preference schedule. The work involves day shift service. The introduction will be individually adapted based on your previous experience. The department offers four study days per year and annual CPR training. QUALIFICATIONS We welcome those who are a licensed nurse with a specialist qualification in operating room nursing and authorized to practice within Swedish healthcare. Swedish language skills at least equivalent to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required. Previous experience working in an operating department with a mixed portfolio of elective and emergency services is meritorious. We also prefer candidates with good knowledge of the journal systems Orbit and Melior.
