About this role

Make a Difference. Every Day. We are now seeking a new colleague for our Reconstructive Surgery Operations (ORK) team. Would you like to help develop our operations together with us? Then take this opportunity and become part of our wonderful team! We are a highly specialized and well-functioning day surgery operating unit. Our hours are Monday to Thursday 07:00-17:30 and Friday 07:00-14:00. ORK provides service to surgical specialties including plastic surgery, ear, nose, and throat (ENT), urology, pediatric surgery, breast cancer surgery, hand surgery, and pediatric dentistry, as well as services for children and adolescents from the pediatric clinic and dermatology department. Our operational mandate also includes service to the diagnostic center (MRI) and psychiatry (ECT). ORK belongs to the Intensive and Perioperative Care area at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) in Malmö. Important to us is a good work environment that we create together, and we strive to provide opportunities for individual skills development. We have implemented the Competence and Service Model (KTM), a competence model that offers opportunities for continuous learning and high-quality, safe care, which is part of our work with the Magnet Model. Our focus is on a well-functioning patient flow with patient comfort and safety at the center. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Operating room nurses are primarily divided into two specialties: ENT/urology (endoscopy/stone surgery) and plastic surgery/breast cancer surgery. As an operating room nurse with us, you will gain broad expertise while having the opportunity to specialize in one of these areas. As an operating room nurse, you are expected to have advanced nursing knowledge, which means the ability to work independently and lead development in surgical care. You should also possess all six core competencies: patient-centered care, team collaboration, evidence-based care, improvement knowledge, quality development, safe care, and informatics. We work in teams with nursing assistants, nurses, and doctors. We offer you a stimulating and inspiring workplace, with pleasant colleagues and opportunities for skills development. As a new employee, you will have access to an individually tailored introductory program developed based on your previous experience. We recognize that everyone has an individual learning process and consider it a matter of course that you will receive support from colleagues to become confident in your role. QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking a licensed nurse authorized to practice in Swedish healthcare with a specialist qualification in operating room nursing. You should have Swedish language skills at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale. Previous experience in operating room settings is meritorious. We want someone who, like us, values work characterized by personal responsibility, participation, trust, and cooperation between colleagues and managers. You should be confident in your role as a nurse and able to make both large and small decisions. Furthermore, you are comfortable working independently, are good at collaboration, and have strong communication skills. Significant emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. As we work with children, a background check will be conducted during the hiring process. In this recruitment, we are using a rolling selection process. We warmly welcome your application!
